Healthcare Headlines
Note: in my last newsletter I stated Cambia Health and Arkansas BCBS were merging. That was a rumor, and not definitive.
Philips & Myocardial Solutions Team Up: Listen up here, fam. This partnership is a great one because it involves my dad who works as CEO at Myocardial Solutions: Philips is partnering with Myocardial Solutions to enhance AI-driven cardiac MRI imaging. The collaboration aims to streamline heart disease diagnostics by integrating AI into Philips’ MR systems and will work to detect early signs of cardiotoxicity. Myocardial Solutions’ offering is incredible at detecting subtle changes in heart function, catching heart failure faster. My dad has told me countless stories of folks who have taken the test and received a rude awakening about their heart. Check out Myocardial Solutions’ site here. (side note: is this an ad? I mean he is my dad. Either way you guys know the conflict here). Makes me wonder if GE HealthCare is paying attention!!
NeuroFlow Acquires Quartet: NeuroFlow, a behavioral health technology and analytics company, has acquired Quartet Health, a value-based behavioral healthcare enablement firm. This acquisition aims to enhance the integration of behavioral health into physical health workflows, leveraging NeuroFlow’s technology and analytics platform alongside Quartet’s extensive provider network and referral management capabilities. The combined strengths of both organizations are expected to improve access to quality mental health care and streamline care coordination.
Amazon & Montefiore Open Clinics: Amazon’s One Medical is teaming up with Montefiore to open new primary care clinics in New York.
Prospect Sells Crozer Health: Prospect Medical Holdings is selling Crozer Health’s assets to a newly formed not-for-profit consortium in Pennsylvania. The deal shifts ownership of the Pennsylvania-based health system away from private equity control and includes all hospitals, ASCs, clinics, and other healthcare assets and follows in the footsteps of fellow PE-backed hospital operator Steward.
Hospitals Challenge J&J 340B Move: Hospitals are pushing back against Johnson & Johnson’s lawsuit that seeks to restrict 340B discounts on certain drugs, arguing J&J’s attempt to limit access through contract pharmacies undermines the program’s intent.
Nationwide & ProMedica Split: Nationwide Children’s Hospital and ProMedica are ending their affiliation with Mercy Health in Toledo after what seems to be a legal spat involving some business dealings and Mercy being crowded out from future upside.
KKR Invests in Henry Schein: KKR is making a strategic investment in Henry Schein, bringing governance changes and financial adjustments. The private equity firm will take a significant stake, reshaping Schein’s board and strategic direction. The deal signals heightened investor interest in healthcare distribution and services.
Key Medicaid Trends for 2025: KFF outlines major Medicaid developments to watch in 2025, including unwinding pandemic-era coverage, state-level expansion debates, and changes to managed care. States are navigating enrollment declines after eligibility redeterminations. The report highlights policy shifts that could impact millions of beneficiaries.
Essentia & U of Minnesota Plan: Essentia Health and the University of Minnesota are proposing a new nonprofit healthcare framework. “The newly formed, integrated health framework would re-invest in University of Minnesota on- and near-campus medical facilities, as well as in rural healthcare and increased access to elevated levels of specialized care.”

Healthcare Huddle’s breakdown of 340B was a great, well-researched overview from Jared.
Define VC’s report captured how the last decade shaped health tech and where it’s headed—big-picture insights with real substance. I also thought their page on ‘Wave 2’ health tech companies was interesting, stating these firms share stronger fundamentals than digital health ‘Wave 1’ (and I should really hope so):
